INEC Distributes Voters Register To Political Parties In Osun

Voters-CardThe Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osun on Tuesday distributed copies of the voters register to all political parties in the state.

Mr Oladipo Oladapo, the Administrative Secretary of the commission, said at a forum in Osogbo that the exercise was crucial to the success of the governorship and general elections.

“INEC is committed to providing a voters register that will be qualitative and error free to make it acceptable to all.

“The voters register contains a list of those registered as at 2011; the registration is a continuous process.

“There will be a Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) from March 12 to March 17”, Oladapo said.

He said the distribution of the permanent voter cards would hold between March 7 and March 9.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that 21 political parties were represented at the forum.

Mr Raphael Towobola, the Secretary of the PDP in the state, told NAN that the exercise was laudable.

Mr Tunji Oyolola of the Progressives People Alliance commended INEC for the compilation of the register in data form.

Mr Adebiyi Oyelowo, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, said transparency was critical to the success of the elections. (NAN)
