The Nigeria Football Federation has revealed they are “very close” to formalising a 2014 World Cup warm-up match against Croatia.
According to the spokesman of the NFF Ademola Olajire: “We (NFF) are 95% close to sealing a friendly against Croatia ahead of the World Cup.”
Brazil-bound Croatia opens their campaign against the host nation in the opening fixture of next summer’s tournament.
It is believed the game against Croatia will present the African champions an opportunity to size up another European nation with a similar style as Nigeria Group F opponents, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Croatia will also play Mexico and Cameroon while the Super Eagles’ other group opponents are Iran and Argentina.
Nigeria will face Mexico on March 5th in Atlanta.
