Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, has urged his ward to focus on their game and care less about other team’s results as the fight for the Premier League supremacy enters it s final and dicey stages.
Wenger stressed that “no team is invincible” but refused to agree with Jose Mourinho’s claim that Chelsea are not title challengers.
“I don’t know (if Chelsea are ‘little horse’ in the title race), they are in there,” said Wenger in his pre-match conference ahead of Saturday’s league tie against third-placed Liverpool.
“It is easy to move out if you don’t want! I just think they are in there, of course.”
Chelsea ended Manchester City’s unbeaten home run in the ongoing season on Monday night, a result which helped the Gunners retain pole position on the league standings, following their 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday.
“I told you that [everyone could lose games] one month ago, and you did not believe me. There is no invincible team I think because there are so many quality teams in the Premier League. It is just about how close you are to your best every time which decides the game,” he added.
Wenger’s men top the league with 55 points, But only two points separates the top three with City and Chelsea tied on 53 points.
They will hope to start off a busy month of February well enough on Saturday when they travel to Anfield. The Londoners will play five times in the space of two weeks against the likes of Liverpool (twice), Manchester United and Bayern Munich in the Champions League round of 16.
Wenger continued: “We focus on our side and do not listen too much to what people say. What is important is that it is a period where you show up with good performances.
