Northern Governors Set To Meet In Kaduna Over Killings, Confab On Monday

Northern-governorsThe Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) will tomorrow converge on Kaduna to discuss the spate of insecurity and killings in some northern states.

A statement issued by Hon. Saidu Ndako Idris, Secretary to the Niger State Government and co-ordinating chairman, Forum of Secretaries to the Governments of Northern States, said other issues to be discussed by the governors at the Gen. Hassan Usman Katsina House, Kawo, Kaduna State, venue of the meeting include the New Nigeria Development Company (NNDC) and Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation (SABMF).

Idris added that the meeting would also afford the governors the opportunity to discuss the forthcoming national conference and the forum’s contributions to victims of Ombatse killings in Nasarawa State.

Recall that a delegation of four governors from the NSGF, led by its chairman and governor of Niger State, Dr. Mua’zu Babangida Aliyu, had visited Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, last year where they pledged N100million to the families of slain policemen and operatives of the Department of State Security Services by Ombatse worshippers in Alakyo village.

Idris further hinted that the NSGF meeting would be preceded by a parley of the Forum of Secretaries to the Governments of Northern States today at 4pm in Kaduna.
