Scotland Mull Nigeria Friendly

Nigeria could face Scotland in an international friendly at Fulham’s Craven Cottage ground in May, according to BBC Scotland football reporter Alasdair Lamont.

The proposed match could serve as a warm-up match for the Super Eagles ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup and as well form coach Gordon Strachan’s build-up to Euro 2016 qualifying series.

Both nations last met in another World Cup- Korea/Japan 2002- warm-up, when the then coach Adeboye Onigbinde-led lads came from behind to win 2-1 in Aberdeen.

While the European nation are not due to participate in Brazil next summer, they would use the friendly to tune up for their Euro 2016 qualifiers, where they’ve been pitted against Germany, Republic of Ireland, Poland, Georgia and Gibraltar.

It would also mark a return to the Fulham FC London home, where the Azzuris of Italy forced the Eagles to a 2-all draw last November.

Scotland will take on Poland in an exhibition match at Warsaw’s National Stadium next week.
