Peter Odemwingie’s brace helped Stoke City comeback from a goal down to beat West Ham 3-1 on Saturday.
Sam Allardyce, who is named the Barclays Manager of the Month for February, started striker Andy Carroll for the first time since his dismissal against Swansea last month- alongside four other changes.
And the ex-Newcastle United striker made an early impact, scoring the opening goal when he beat Asmir Begovic to a Mark Noble free kick and headed across the goalkeeper into the net.
Odemwingie restored parity three minutes after the half-hour mark, deflecting a Peter Crouch acrobatic effort with his shoulder past goalkeeper Adrián San Miguel del Castillo into the net.
Marko Arnautovic pulled Stoke ahead to the delight of the fans gathered at the Britannia Stadium on 69 minutes, but Odemwingie’s sizzling finish in the closing stage of the encounter, after a Steven Ireland-inspired counter, sealed victory for Mark Hughes’ men.
The win helped the Potters climb above West Ham to tenth with 34 points, having played a game more than the Hammers.
