Nigerien With 1,000 Passport Photographs Arrested In Ogun

A Nigerien in possession of over 1,000 passport photographs of young boys have been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command. The suspect was also found with a camera and several forms.

In a statement in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital city on Saturday, spokesman of the command, Muyiwa Adebajo said that the suspect was arrested at Ogijo yesterday.

According to him, the suspect, who claimed to be staying with one Alhaji Ismalia Abu in Ikeja area of Lagos State since 2013, could not explain his mission in Ogijo or what he was doing in the country.

The police spokesman said the Ogun Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye, had directed that the case should be transferred to the Ogun Command of the Nigerian Immigration Service for further investigations.

“When the immigration authorities are through with the investigations, the state Police Command will decide on the next line of action,” the statement said.

Adebajo assured members of the public that the police would continue to do their best toward ensuring security.
