Voters’ Register For Anambra Guber Polls Was Flawed, Ngige Insists

chris_ngige1Gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the November elections in Anambra State, Senator Chris Ngige, on Friday reiterated his position that there was massive mutilation of the voters’ register used for the election, which produced Willie Obiano of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, as winner.

Ngige, who spoke under cross examination by the counsel for INEC, APGA and Governor Obiano at yesterday’s sitting of the Elections Petition Tribunal in Awka, said he did not complain about the register used for the senatorial election in 2011 which he won because it was not as bad.

He, however, affirmed that he was duly accredited and later voted at his Nkwo- Ide Square polling unit of Alor Ward 1 in Idemili South Local Government Area and remained there till about 3 pm when the result was announced.

Ngige said he received complaints from his agents in other parts of the state orally, via voice and SMS telephone messages, which gave him the situation report.
