Okagbare Claims Second in Diamond League Opening Sprint

Blessing Okagbare finished runner-up behind Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in the 100m at the maiden IAAF Diamond League meeting of the 2014 season in Doha, Qatar, on Friday.

The multi-talented Nigerian, who won bronze medal in the 200m at last year’s World Championships, after struggling to get out of her block; chased the world and Olympic champion all the way down the line to finish in a Season’s Best (SB) time of 11.18secs, five seconds shy of winner, Fraser-Pryce.
