Uruguay’s Luis Suarez has been banned nine months by the world football governing body FIFA for biting Italian defender Giorgio Chielini when Uruguay knocked Italy out of the World Cup on Tuesday.
In addition to the ban for games involving the Uruguay national team, the striker is also banned from all footballing activities, including entering a football stadium, for the next four months. He was also fined $112,000.
