Atiku: Count Me Out Of Adamawa Governorship Race

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has denied rumors making the rounds that he is set to contest the October 11 governorship by-election in Adamawa State.

Atiku, in a statement via his official Facebook page, said the rumor is not true.

“I was elected governor of Adamawa State 15 years ago, but was elevated to the position of Vice President. I believe we must always look forward, not backwards”, he said.

The Turakin Adamawa, however, pledged his continued support for the development of his home state, which he said he had always done both as a businessman and elder statesman.

Those spreading the news of you having governorship ambition in your home state of Adamawa are mischievous makers peddling rumours to distract you from all your programmes both for your state and Nigeria as a whole. I will beg you pay them no attention and carry on with your developmental projects as a statesman that you are.
