Brondby sign Daniel Agger

Information Nigeria understands that Denmark outfit Fc Brondby have completed the signing of Liverpool defender Daniel Agger.

The 29-year old fell out of favor in Liverpool with injury problems over the past 12-months, but despite several links to a host of top clubs including Napoli and Barcelona, he has chosen to return to his former club.

The signing of Dejan Lovren further oppressed his chances of getting back to the Anfield outfit starting team.

After agreeing to join Brondby, the Danish footballer admitted he had problems coping with the physical demands of the Premier League.

“Liverpool have been such a big part of my life and family’s lives for so long, that leave is extremely difficult.

“The opportunity arose for me to return home to Brondby and at this stage of my career it felt like the right decision for me.

“I wouldn’t leave here to go anywhere else and that has been proven by my actions in recent seasons- I have turned down many offers to move to other Premier League and European clubs”

“This has been our home and somewhere we have been very happy and settled. However, more recently i have started to feel the effects of playing regularly in a league that is as physically demanding as the Premier League is, and i would not want to stay if i did not think i was able to meet the challenges, week in, week out”

The Denmark international made 232 appearances for Liverpool and lifted the Carling Cup in 2012 at Wembley.
