German Bundesliga side Mainz have announced the signing of winger Jairo Samperio from Sevilla on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
Jairo, who featured for Spain at the Fifa U-20 World Cup last year in Turkey, made 25 appearances for Sevilla on their track to the Uefa Europa Cup triumph last season- although missed the final through suspension.
Mainz manager Christian Heidel said the 21-year-old’s performance at the Spanish Primera Division club impressed him.
“Jairo is the player that we’ve been looking for to bolster our forward line,” said Heidel.

The coach added: “He is a young player who is constantly evolving but who has already played three years at the highest level in Spain.”
