People need to think twice about who they allow to babysit their children. A man by the name of Austin Hamilton is being charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse. Austin Hamilton spanked his girlfriend’s baby boy to death with a black leather belt.
This situation occurred while he was supposed to be babysitting one-year-old Sincere Williams and his six-year-old brother. The children’s mother Tiffany Williams of Tampa, Florida, left her children in the care of her boyfriend at a Motel Six while she was working.
Austin Hamilton was changing Sincere’s diaper around 8:00 P.M. Saturday night, as a result Sincere urinated over 24-year-old Austin Hamilton.
After Austin spanked the baby with a leather belt, he called 911 after he noticed the child was struggling to breathe. When the ambulance arrived at the scene of the crime, they found Sincere Williams unresponsive and drove him to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Once they arrived at the hospital Sincere was pronounced dead.
“According to a Tampa Police Department report, Hamilton told officers at the scene he didn’t hit the victim and was not involved in any accidents that could have caused his death,” The Daily Mail reports.
After this statement was revealed, the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office later concluded that the child died of blunt trauma to the stomach, which made Hamilton quickly change his story.
Austin Hamilton told the police he lost control and smacked the baby numerous times with a leather belt. He claims he tried to pick the child up, but he fell over and hit his head.
Sincere’s six-year-old brother was not injured, nor was he involved in the death of his brother. Police are continuing to investigate the murder. Austin Hamilton has been sent to Hillsborough County Jail.
