Torres joins Milan

Chelsea’s hit-man Fernando Torres has joined AC Milan on a two-year loan deal. Information Nigeria understands.

The former Atletico Madrid and Liverpool striker joined the Stamford Bridge outfit in 2011, for a then-British record of £50M, that has recently been broken by Di Maria’s transfer to Manchester United.

Torres,30, scored 20 goals in 110 League appearance during his time in Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho, Chelsea boss, recently told BBC:

“If he wants to leave, its because he wants to try a new life, a new club, probably new league”

Torres dropped down the pecking order at the London club after the mega-summer signing of Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid. Dider Drogba also returned to the club from Turkish side Galatasary.

Adriano Galliani, Milan vice-president, told the club’s official website:

“Torres is certainly an important forward and we will see if we can sign him or another player.”

The Spaniard’s medicals and personal terms agreements are expected to be completed on Saturday, ahead of unveiling next week, Information Nigeria was briefed.
