The paramount ruler of Epie Kingdom in Bayelsa State, The Obenibe XI, King Malla Sasime, has commended the National Executive Council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); the party’s Governors’ Forum and members of its Board of Trustees (BoT) for taking what he called “the bold, politically sensible and socio-economically prudent decision” to endorse President Goodluck Jonathan as their sole candidate for the 2015 presidential election.
The monarch said in a press statement at the weekend that the Epie Kingdom, which he described as “President Jonathan’s second home”, is happy with the transformational strides of the president, saying that “it makes a lot of sense to recognize that fact, congratulate him and urge him to do more”.
Noting that the people of Epie Kingdom “are simply proud of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan”, the traditional ruler called on the people of Northern Nigeria to “please reciprocate and consolidate the political synergy between the North and the South-south”,
“Let’s face it: Will it be too much to ask that Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, a minority, be given another four years? King Sasime asked, adding, “Are we saying that what was good for the South-west and other geo-political zones in the North is not good for the minorities?”
