Martins Scores as Sounders Keep Title Hopes Alive

Obafemi Martins grabbed Seattle Sounders’ second goal in a 3-2 home win over Real Salt Lake on Friday night.

The Nigerian’s 43rd minute strike gave the CenturyLink Field outfit a 2-1 advantage going into the half-time break, after his strike partner Lemar Neagle leveled Javier Morales’ 30th minute opener.

It was the ex-Inter Milan man’s fifth goal in his last five games and his 13th in 23 Major League Soccer matches. Martins has also made three assists within that time frame.
