Nigeria’s Military Debunks Rumours Chibok Girls Have Been Released

The Defence Headquarter (DHQ) has denied the alleged release of the Chibok girls, which is making rounds over the internet.

In a tweet on Tuesday evening, DHQ it wrote via his twitter account that “The Story circulating in respect of release of the #Chibok girls is untrue. Buses drove into the barracks but conveyed other individuals.”

The over 200 girls were on April 14, 2014 kidnapped by The terror group Boko Haram, from their Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State. Efforts at rescuing the school girls had since proven abortive.

However, recent reports about some members of the terror sect surrendering to the army might have made the possibility of the release of the abducted girls seem more likely.
