Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane has signed a new contract extension which will keep him at the Spanish club until June 2020.
The 21-year-old arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu from Lens in 2011, initially signing a 6-year deal.
“Real Madrid CF has extended Raphael Varane’s contract with the club until 30 June 2020,” the club said in a statement.
He has made 74 appearances and won five titles in his three years with Real; the UEFA Champions League, Spanish La Liga, UEFA European Super Cup, Spanish Super Cup and Copa Del Rey. He played all five games in France’s run to the 2014 Fifa World Cup quarter-finals.
