We still mourn the tragic suicide of famous Hollywood star — Robin Willams.
His daughter, Zelda Williams has claimed that her father, Robin Williams fought depression ‘his whole life’ while promoting World Mental Health Day on Twitter.
The 25-year-old daughter of the late ‘Good Will Hunting’ actor has urged her Twitter followers to keep fighting against depression, after her father – who struggled with mental health problems – took his own life on August 11, 2014.
On Thursday, October 9, 2014, Zelda posted a series of tweets to raise awareness and emphasise to her followers that if they are not alone. She wrote: ‘Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay. Mental illness is often misunderstood & misrepresented, but that’s starting to change. Let’s end the stigma.‘ Mental health IS as important as physical health, & whether there are visible signs or not, the suffering is real. It can affect EVERYONE. ‘Lastly, my dad openly fought depression his whole life, both in general and his own. No matter what anyone says, it is a FIGHT. Fight on. (sic)’
Shortly after her father’s tragic passing, Zelda was forced to leave Twitter after cruel internet trolls sent her disturbing photo-shopped images of the late actor along with many threatening messages.
She returned to the micro-blogging site three weeks later after she shared a quote from the actor Harvey Fierstein, who starred opposite Robin in the 1993 popular film, ‘Mrs Doubtfire’. The quote read: ‘Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim. Accept no ones definition of your life; define yourself.’
