Prominent Delta State politician and former governorship candidate of the Democratic People’s Party (DPP), Great Ogboru, on Thursday dumped the party for Labour Party as he picked the nomination form to contest the 2015 gubernatorial election in the state on the platform of LP.
While reacting to the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to suspend the controversial creation of 30,000 new polling units, Ogboru said the move will restore the needed confidence of the people in the preparedness of the commission to conduct credible polls in 2015.
Speaking to Journalists at the LP national secretariat in Abuja shortly after collecting the governorship nomination form, Ogboru said his decision to defect to the party was informed by the huge gap in democratic tenets in the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
