Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero and Stevan Jovetic will be fit to face Bayern Munich, according to manager Manuel Pellegrini.
But Edin Dzeko (calf), David Silva (knee) and Aleksandar Kolarov (calf) are doubtful for Tuesday’s must-win Uefa Champions League clash with already qualified Bayern after missing Monday’s session as they continued their respective recoveries.
Midfielders Yaya Toure and Fernandinho are both suspended for the match.
Aguero and Jovetic were in attendance at Carrington but sat out the ensuing session, with the striking pair understood to have sustained knocks in Saturday’s win over Swansea City.
City- bottom in Group E with just 2 points from five games- will look to keep their Champions League campaign alive against the on-form German champions at the Etihad Stadium. The Citizens will be eliminated if they fail to beat Bayern and there is a winner in the other group match between CSKA Moscow and Roma.
Speaking during his pre-game preview, Pellegrini allayed fears concerning the fitness of both strikers, who started against Swansea on Saturday.
“Both of them, Aguero and Jovetic, are in the squad list, so they don’t have any problem for tomorrow (Tuesday),” he said.
“They didn’t work normally today because they had just a small thing (injury) after the last game, but nothing important.”
Aguero is City’s top scorer this season with 12 Premier League goals and 2 strikes in Europe. Jovetic’s equaliser against the Swans in the 2-1 win over the weekend took his tally to three.
