The All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday said the 2015 general election will put an end to President Goodluck Jonathan’s Peoples Democratic Party-led administration.

The national chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun and the party’s national vice chairman, southwest, former governor Segun Oni, said the opposition party had been ordained by God to take over the mantle of leadership of the country come 2015.

The APC chieftains made this assertion on Saturday during a service held at the Methodist church, Ifaki Ekiti in Ido/Osi local government area of Ekiti State to mark the 60th birthday of Mr. Oni. The event attracted political bigwigs from within and outside the state including immediate past Governor of the state, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and incumbent Governor Ayodele Fayose, who sat close to each other with only their wives sitting in-between them.

Fayose and Fayemi displayed maturity at the event in light of recent happenings between them as they shook hands and exchanged pleasantries.

Oni, at the service, thanked Gov. Fayose for restoring his privileges as a former governor, describing the gesture as a rare show of brotherliness. He also debunked insinuations that the gesture had a political undertone.

Describing the PDP government under President Jonathan as wasteful, Mr. Oyegun said Nigerians are already disillusioned with the sufferings the party brought into the country, expressing confidence that the party will be rejected at the polls.

“APC is a party, whose time has come. APC is a party with welfarist and people-oriented programmes. We won’t steal your money. Public money must be used for the benefit of the people. The level of corruption that exists today will cease when APC gains power.

“We would protect our citizens. The life of every Nigerian is worthy to preserve. Whatever that will take us to end insurgency, we are going to do it.

“Let me say here that youth employment will be a priority on our agenda, apart from the fact that we will do everything possible to protect the lives of the Nigerian citizens”, he stated.

Reaffirming the position canvassed by Oyegun, the celebrant said, “It is very clear anywhere in Nigeria that the APC is the government in waiting. The APC would win hands down. I believe this is the ordination of God”.
