Pillars Sign CHAN Striker Ibrahim Abubakar

Kano Pillars have added Nasarawa United forward Ibrahim Abubakar to its squad.

Abubakar impressed for Nigeria at this year’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) in South Africa, where the home-based Eagles finished third.

His appearance for Nasarawa United this season was blighted by injury, but that did not cause his stock to depreciate and was recently linked with a move to South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) club Ajax Cape Town.

There has been dispute over his status at the ‘Solid Miners’ with his handlers insisting he was on loan at the Lafia club.

Reigning Glo Premier League champions Pillars has now registered the 20-year-old, who played four matches at the CHAN tournament and scored once, for next season’s Caf Champions League.
