World No. 6 Andy Murray won his first title of 2015 without even taking to the court in Saturday’s Mubadala World Tennis Championship final after Novak Djokovic withdrew due to illness.
Serb Djokovic, who beat Stanilas Wawrinka 6-1 6-2 in Friday’s semi-final, said he was unfit to engage Murray in the final of the exhibition event.
“I’ve been sick today with a fever and I’m not fit to play,” said Djokovic.
Murray outlasted the Spanish duo of Feliciano Lopez and Rafael Nadal in round one and semi-final respectively to set up the top seed in Abu Dhabi.
