Wife of the presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hajiya Aisha Buhari, Monday, donated assorted drugs and other relief materials to victims of the multiple suicide bomb attacks last weekend in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, which left over 50 persons dead and scores injured.
Mrs. Buhari presented the items through the Borno State Governor’s wife, Hajiya Nana Kashim Shettima, at the State Specialist Hospital Maiduguri.
Mrs. Shettima extended the condolences and sympathies of Mrs. Buhari to the people of Borno state and government over the bomb attacks in the metropolis, while calling for prayers for peace in the land.
The APC presidential flag bearer’s wife further commended the efforts of the security agencies and the Civilian JTF in fighting the Boko Haram insurgency in the state.
Receiving the items on behalf of the victims, Chief Medical Director of the Borno State Specialist Hospital, Dr. Salisu Kwaya Bura, thanked Mrs. Buhari for the gesture, adding that it will go a long way in attending to the health needs of the patients within the state owned hospitals, describing the suicide bomb attacks as senseless.
Dr. Bura expressed gratitude to Mrs. Aisha Buhari for donation, describing the gesture as timely.
The items donated include 150 cartons of assorted drugs, 1000 multi-vitamins, polythene mats and blankets among others.
