Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been named Feyenoord’s new manager from next season, the Dutch club have announced.
The ex-Arsenal, Rangers and Barcelona defender is currently assistant to Fred Rutten at the Rotterdam club and will step up at the end of the season when the latter leaves.
Van Bronckhorst will sign a two-year contract as Feyenoord head coach.

“To become head coach fills me with pride and I am extremely grateful for the confidence that Feyenoord have placed in me,” he told the club’s official website.
Feyenoord, the club at which the 40-year-old started and ended his playing career, are currently third in the Dutch Eredivisie.
