Paris St-Germain (PSG) and Juventus are reportedly set to begin talks on the transfer of Paul Pogba, as Thiago Silva has added weight to rumours concerning the France youngster’s prospective arrival at the Parc des Princes.
Italian website Tuttosport rumoured that PSG are bent on landing the ex-Manchester United midfielder this summer in a possible player-plus-cash deal, which could see Uruguay striker Edinson Cavanni, 28, move in the opposite direction.
The French Ligue 1 champions are said to have agreed a post-tax offer worth £138,000 a week with the 22-year-old, with both clubs now expected to thrash out the figure involved in a potential move in subsequent weeks.
Meanwhile, Brazilian centre-half Silva has urged his club to sign Pogba, who has long been touted by his former club for a return to Old Trafford.
Pogba has scored seven goals and made two assists in 23 Serie A matches this season. He boasts an impressive 23-goal haul in 122 matches in all competitions since arriving in Turin on a free transfer in 2012. Silva believes he has all it takes to flourish in the French top flight.
The PSG skipper is quoted on talkSport as saying: “He (Pogba) is young and an amazing talent just like Marco Verratti. But he is also French and knows the language. He would integrate perfectly without any issues.
“If he did arrive we would all do our best to make him immediately feel welcome.”
