PSG Unmoved By Man Utd’s Reported £35m Offer For Cavani

Paris St-Germain (PSG) will not accept a £35m offer from Manchester United for striker Edinson Cavani, according to president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

“A €50m (£35m) offer from Manchester United? I would not even look at such a bid,” Al-Khelaifi told Le Parisien.

The Premier League side are reportedly keeping tabs on the Uruguay international as Louis van Gaal plans to improve his options in the forward line during the close season.

The Old Trafford side are understood to be weighing up a £35m bid for Cavani, but PSG chief Al-Khelaifi has rubbished the prospect of selling the former Napoli man.

Cavani has scored 11 goals in 30 league games for PSG so far in the current campaign and also scored six times as the French Ligue 1 champions suffered a last-8 elimination at the expense of Barcelona.

“I have not held talks with Cavani over his future,” he continued. “He is a young player and is the future of PSG.

“Edinson needs a bit more confidence, but his last game against Lille- in which he scored twice- was further proof of his talent.”
