The immediate younger brother to wife of the president, Aisha Buhari, Alhaji Musa Yola, has denied reports making the rounds that he was arrested by security operatives on the orders of President Muhammadu Buhari.
SaharaReporters had claimed that Alh. Yola was arrested by the State Security Services for duping an unnamed businessman of N300 million on the false promise of securing an oil bloc for him.
In an interview with Premium Times, the president’s brother-in-law expressed shock at the reports.
“As we speak, I am in the President’s office and I was with him last night. I simply don’t know or understand who is behind these malicious rumours”, he said.
He added that he had never been involved in any fraudulent act.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, also debunked the reports, saying there was no iota of truth in the rumours.
“It is definitely not true, there is no iota of truth in this report there is no basis for the president to do that”, he said.
