Third seed Andy Murray saw off Mikhail Kukushkin in his first round match at Wimbledon to take his record this year to 42-6.
Tye 2013 champion will face Robin Hasse in the round of 64 after his 6-4 7-6(3) 6-4 win over Kazhak Kukushkin at the All England Club on Tuesday.
Murray needed a third asking to finish off a 38-minute first set, but was faced with a Kukushkin fightback in the second set, at whose point the heat at SW19 had began taking its toll on both players.
Murray raced into a 3-0 lead and then 5-2 at some point, only for Kukushkin to level at 5-all and force a tie-breaker, which the Briton took by winning ten of 11 points.
He broke his No. 59 ranked opponent in the fifth game of the third set en route to closing out his 84th victory on grass court.
No. 73-ranked Dutch Hasse needed four sets to see off Alejandro Falla 6-2 3-6 6-4 6-2 moments earlier.
