Former WWE wrestling champion turned actor, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has revealed his disappointed at Hulk Hogan’s recent racist comments.
The Rock called into the 2015 TCA Summer press tour from Florida and aired his thoughts on the WWE legend.
“I was pretty disappointed with what I heard, like all of us, by the way. I was disappointed in him. I have known Terry for a lot of years. My dad helped trained him in Florida in the ’70s when he was breaking into the business. I come from a very long lineage of professional wrestlers” said The Rock.
“I had not known the man to be racist. It’s funny, it’s one of those things where, and not justifying what he said, but we’ve all talked trash, especially in private. He said what he said and he’s paying the price” further said the Hollywood star.
Hulk Hogan has apologized for his racist remarks that got him kicked out of the WWE. “‘Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation,” Hogan tells Us. “It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it; and I apologize for having done it. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise. I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs. It is not who I am. I continue to work every day to improve as a person, and this matter is an important learning experience for me in that regard. As a result I am resigning from my contractual relationship with the WWE” said Hulk Hogan.
