Terrorist group Boko Haram has continued it’s use of young females as suicide bombers in attacks across the country.
Borno State commissioner of Police, Mr. Aderemi Opadokun confirmed this, saying Friday’s Boko Haram attacks on Borno towns involved six female suicide bombers.
In a reply to enquiries by a Thisday correspondent, Opadokun said that there was an attack by the terrorists on Zabamari village, near Dusuman village in Jere local government area.
“Six female suicide bombers detonated IEDs on their bodies while trying to infiltrate Maiduguri via Muna garage on Mafa-Dikwa road, killing themselves and many others,” the commissioner said, adding that 21 persons were injured in the incident.
Attacks by Boko Haram have intensified since President Muhammadu Buhari assumed power on May 29, with over 200 people killed.
