Protocol Officers Of VP Osinbajo Clash With Organisers Over Sitting Arrangement At Ooni’s Burial

Yemi OsinbajoA mild drama played out at the Inter-Religious Farewell Service in honour of the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade, when protocol officers of the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo and organisers of the event clashed over allocation of tables to dignitaries on Friday.

At the make-shift hall, where the ceremony is to take place, a leader of the VP’s protocol team picked a front table for Prof. Osinbajo, but the organisers told him that the table was already reserved for the Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola and other officials in the state.

This led to a heated argument as the protocol team insisted on reserving the table for the vice president.
It took the intervention of Ife elders and prominent palace figures for the rift to be settled as the table was eventually left for Governor Aregbesola and his entourage.
