Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State yesterday visited some Internally Displaced Persons’ camps across Maiduguri metropolis, where he shared gifts of assorted fruits to displaced children as a part of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The governor explained that the purpose of the visit was to put smile on faces of displaced persons.
Shettima also reiterated the assurance that the end of Boko Haram is in sight, adding that his government will immediately embark on reconstruction and rehabilitation of the destroyed communities.
The governor also urged people to pray for the sustenance of re-emerging peace in the state and the northeast in general.
“God willing, all IDPs would soon back to their home and begin their normal life”, Shettima said.
