The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Timi Frank, has cried out over threats to his life by individuals in Bayelsa State following his decision to withdraw his membership from the Governorship Campaign Organization of Chief Timipre Sylva.
Speaking with Journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, Frank accused a lawmaker representing Brass Constituency in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly of threatening his life.
He alleged that he had received phone calls from the lawmaker since he took the decision to abstain from the campaign organization constituted on Monday by the national chairman of the party, Chief Odigie Oyegun at the national secretariat of APC in Abuja.
“He called my lines several times and when I eventually picked he started raining insults on me, accusing me of trying to sabotage Sylva’s ambition as well as insulting the APC guber candidate. The lawmaker said they had had enough of me and that if I were man enough that I should step into Bayelsa State and see if I would not meet my waterloo.
“He said that they knew my house in Abuja and that to trace me is no big deal. After listening to him quietly and he slamming the phone on me, I resolved to quickly bring to the public notice this latest threat to my life as it is serious”, he stated.
The APC deputy spokesman also said that the lawmaker had sent him a text message insulting him and saying, “I will not watch you insult my boss for any reason. You can’t have somebody like Sylva in your entire family”.
Frank, therefore, called on the state and national leaderships of the party to intervene in the matter to avoid further degeneration of the situation.
