N75 Billion Handover Controversy: Ex-Gov Obi Calls For Ceasefire

Peter Obi-Willie ObianoHe immediate past Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi, has expressed concern over the lingering controversy over the N75billion his administration allegedly bequeathed for his successor, Governor Willie Obiano, saying caution should not be thrown to the wind so that the issue would not tarnish the image of the state.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Solo Chukwudobelu had while addressing a press conference on behalf of the governor last week at the Government House in Awka, denied the claim that the previous administration handed over N75billion to the current administration.

In a press statement he issued yesterday from Britain where his is undergoing a study programme at the University of Cambridge, Mr. Obi called on all parties in the ongoing media war on Anambra State finances to cease all ‘hostilities’ and remember that the dignity of the state and its people must be upheld at all times.
