The All Progressives Congress Campaign Council of the Kogi State Governor-elect, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has pleaded with Hon James Abiodun Faleke and other aggrieved members of the party to accept the recent developments in the state as the wish of God.
Mr. Faleke was running mate to the APC candidate in the election, late Prince Abubakar Audu before his demise.
When the party leadership chose Bello as the late Audu’s replacement to contest the supplementary election, which was concluded last Saturday, Faleke opposed the move, insisting that he was supposed to be declared governor-elect, not running mate or deputy governorship candidate.
But a statement issued yesterday by the party’s campaign spokesperson in Kogi, Abdulmalik Suleiman said: “We plead with them to cooperate with Bello to develop the state in line with the vision of our late icon, Prince Abubakar Audu”.
It also appealed to all supporters to back the governor-elect, Alhaji Bello in the task of developing the state, adding that all hands must be on deck.
“No winner, no vanquished, we must continue as one united family that we are. The governor- elect is a humble man who will not discriminate against anyone within the party”, the statement also stressed.
Suleiman reiterated the need for all Kogites to pray and work towards peace, stability and progress of the state, stressing the need for the people to support their leaders for the benefit of all.
The campaign council also wished all Kogites a memorable transition.
