The newly elected governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello today received a certificate of return issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lokoja at a ceremony attended by several political bigwigs.
While presenting the certificate to the Governor-Elect, the representative of INEC National Chairman, Professor Antonia Sibi said INEC will continue to adhere to rules in organizing free, fair and credible poll.
In his remarks, the Governor-Elect, Alh Yahaya Bello said he has come to develop the state and unite its people. He thanked the Kogi electorate for believing in him.
His deputy who was also the deputy of Late Abubakar Audu who represented the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the first governorship election which was declared inconclusive, James Faleke was, however, absent.
Faleke, who is representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives returned to the chambers of the House of Representatives, yesterday as his long-drawn battle with the APC and INEC continues.
