Level Of Violence In Bayelsa Supplementary Poll Unacceptable – Saraki

Bukola SarakiThe Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on Sunday, vowed that perpetrators of violence during the supplementary elections in Bayelsa State must be held accountable.

The Senate president was reacting to reports that violence marred the supplementary polls in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the oil-rich state.

“Reports of violence that trailed Supplementary Election in Southern Ijaw, Bayelsa state is totally unacceptable.

“Regardless of what political party we belong, we must collectively denounce the violence that has ensued during and after the ballot process, and to the young men and women out there, please remember your blood and life is worth more than any political ambition.

“I commiserate with those who have lost a loved one and I call on security agents to do everything to bring the perpetrators to face the law”, Saraki said.
