President Muhammadu Buhari is to proceed on a short vacation from Friday, February 5 to Wednesday, February 10, 2016.
A statement by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said that while Buhari is away on vacation, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will perform the functions of the President.
According to the statement, the transfer of powers from President Buhari to Vice President Osinbajo is in line with Section 145 (1) of the Nigerian Constitution.

Subsequently, President Buhari has dispatched a formal notice of his vacation to the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara.
