Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State yesterday said that more killings were going on in Agatu local government area of the state and that nine fresh dead bodies had been recovered.
Suspected Fulani herdsmen had last week killed hundreds and destroyed property including farmlands, in Agatu communities, leading President Muhammadu Buhari to order a probe.

Fielding questions from newsmen shortly after inaugurating a committee on Renewable Energy and Energy Efficient project implementation at the Government House, Makurdi, Tuesday, Ortom lamented that the attack on Idoma Agatu-speaking people was worrisome.
“At least nine people were killed on Monday”, he said. “The commissioner of police went there and reported to me that he saw nine corpses”.
