A former Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, Alhaji Abubakar Tsav, has described yesterday’s visit to the sacked communities of Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State by Governor Samuel Ortom as belated.

Armed herdsmen about eight weeks ago stormed communities in Agatu LGA over the alleged rustling of their cattle by farmers, in the process, killing over 500, including women and children.

Tsav, who spoke to Vanguard, expressed disappointment that the Governor as the Chief Security Officer of the state, failed to visit the area immediately after the killings.

According to him: “that was responsible for his inability to paint a true picture of the situation in the crisis zone.

“The Governor is always lagging behind like a tail, it is not a good development for our state, the people expected better than what they are seeing presently. He should rise up to the occasion as the Chief Security Officer of the state and stop playing politics with the lives of people. I am disappointed his security adviser is not helping him at all”.
