Corp members are protesting the non-payment of their allowances at the Surulere secretariat of the NYSC on Wednesday morning.
The NYSC has in the past few weeks disclosed that it is cash strapped and as a result has failed to mobilize the second stream of corp members for the ‘Batch A’ service year. Some of the protesting corp members have picketed the entrance of the NYSC secretariat located at Babs Animashaun street in Surulere.
Reports indicate that a number of corp members have not been paid their outstanding allowances since March. Attempts to get officials of the NYSC to comment on the allegations were futile even as the protests continue in full swing.
