Taraba APC Scribe, Council Party Chair Defect To PDP

Darius-IshakuThe secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, Tony Suleiman, and the Sardauna Local Government Area chairman of the party, Yusuf Tanimu, have defected to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
The former APC chieftains made their intentions known at an elaborate reception in their honour at the PDP state secretariat in Jalingo, the state capital on Tuesday.
According to Messrs Suleiman and Tanimu, the decision to dump APC was based on their perception that “the APC of the day is not in the interest of Taraba State”.
“As if it is not enough that the leadership of the APC here in Taraba State is bereft of ideas, they have resorted to the petty politics of sidelining members, lack of inclusiveness and abandonment of the few supporters that had their backing and even gave their all to bring the party to its present stage”, they said.
“It is against this backdrop that we had to resign and switch tents. We hereby call on all our supporters to join hands with us as we take a march in the interest of Taraba and Tarabans”, the defectors added
In his response, the Taraba PDP Chairman, Victor Bala Kona, said the door of the party ‘is always open to welcome any APC member that wishes to join the PDP as the true political party in Nigeria”.
“PDP is still the best solution to this country, because APC is a virus and has failed”, Mr. Kona stated.
