.He said Nigeria equally shares such visions to completely eradicate poverty by 2030 and in making that a reality, on June 8, 2016, he inaugurated a Senate committee on the establishment of a Poverty Eradication Scheme Commission to track progress on the ‘poverty front’ and serve as a data bank on all poverty-related issues in line with Nigeria’s commitment to meeting the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal to ‘’End poverty in all its forms everywhere’’

.Mr Saraki said he also visited the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camp in Borno State alongside some of his colleagues in the Senate to evaluate and assess the living condition of the IDPs with the hope of passing quick resolutions to focus more attention on their plight and the State’s governments efforts in addressing the challenges they face on daily basis.

.The senate president said, he uses the occasion of the International Youth Day event today, to encourage our youths, to continue to be the Vanguard of a virile Nigeria in opening the gateway of more accomplishments and successes for our dear nation.

.Finally, he challenged the youth to continue to strive and use their God given talents positively in order to bridge the poverty gap and assist one another in achieving their set goals.

  1. With arms open wide we welcome the International Youth Day 2016,it is a pleasure to be among the youths celebrating thus year’s event.I heard the Senate President mentioned Vision 2030 targeted at completely eradicating poverty, this is laughable. At first it was Vision 2020 as we approach the year 2020 it has now been rebranded as Vision 2030 very soon we will hear of Vision Eternity. What do politicians take Nigerians for?.The visit to the IDPs camp is a welcome development and I salute you in that regard.I have no employment for my fellow youths since I am a fellow victim I have only good wishes and I wish the youths the best as they turn their eyes away from what the government can do for them and look inward to see what they can do for themselves and the nation.
