D’Tigers Crash Out Of Rio 2016 After Losing To Brazil

Nigeria failed to advance out of the group stages of the Rio 2016 basketball tournament after losing to Brazil on Monday night.

After beating Croatia in their fourth group match, D’Tigers needed a win against Brazil to keep their qualification hopes alive. The team had already lost their three opening games to Lithuania, Spain and Argentina.

Monday night’s game ended 69-86 game and was memorable for poor shooting on the part of the Nigerian team. Despite a strong first quarter start which Nigeria won 16-15, the momentum was unsustainable despite the best efforts of Alade Aminu, Ike Diogu, Uzoh Ben and Chamberlin Oguchi.
