Leicester City might be the Premier League defending champions but they sure didn’t play in such fashion on Saturday. When they travelled to Anfield to face Liverpool, very few people would have predicted such a one-sided result but in the end, it was just that.
The Foxes found themselves on the wrong end of a 4-1 drubbing. Liverpool now boasts an extended stadium and they put up a showing which could not be criticised.
Jurgen Klopp and his team have so far not been considered favorites in the league and many argue they don’t have the quality to be contenders.
Nevertheless, their record signing, Saido Mane put on a display, scoring on, assisting another and remained a pain in Leicester’s behind.
Liverpool raced to an early two-goal lead thanks to Firminho and Mane. Vardy capitalised on a Lucas error to pull a goal back but in truth, Leicester never quite looked in it.
Lallana put in a third for Liverpool before Firminho finished the scoring. It’s a second loss for the Foxes this season, a stark departure from losing just three games all through last season.
