Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji on Tuesday paid an historic visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
The monarch was accompanied by another ruler in Oyo, the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Adekunle Salau,  and some high ranking Ibadan chiefs including the Balogun of Ibadan, Chief Akinloye Olakuleyin, Ekerin Olubadan, Biodun Daisi, Agbaakin of Ibadan, Chief Lekan Alabi.
The Aseyin told journalists in a brief interview that the visit was being paid to felicitate with the Ooni on the celebration of his birthday and the Olojo Festival.
Oba Salau said Ile Ife is the source of the Yoruba race and urged all Yoruba monarchs to support the Ooni in his efforts to unite the Yoruba race.
The Olojo festival is the celebration of the remembrance of Ogun, a Yoruba deity, who is believed to be the first son of Oduduwa. The festival is held annually in October.
