The challenge was initiated by students from Edward H White High School in Jacksonville, Florida on October 26, 2016
The challenge is inspired by the time freeze scene from X-Men: Days of Future Past. In the scene, Quicksilver (Evan Peters) runs through a maze of people and objects all frozen in time.
The scene was then reenacted in the 2016 movie Xmen: The Apocalypse so we’re really just dragging sci-fi into reality
